Lesson #8 Social Distancing

Social distancing has changed our lives. It has changed the way we interact with friends and family, the way we shop, and the way we entertain ourselves. What are five things you don't do now because of social distancing? For example, because of social distancing, I'm not playing baseball this summer.

What are five things you've had to start doing because of social distancing?

I have started talking to my friends more on social media because of social distancing.

Canadians have been practicing social distancing for about 10 weeks. We have "flattened the curve," and in my opinion saved lives. We have put the needs of vulnerable people like senior citizens and people with weakened immune systems ahead of ourselves and our needs. It hasn't been easy though. It has come at the cost of our regular way of life. What is the most difficult thing you have had to give up? For me the most difficult thing to give up is hugging my friends and family. I want to keep them safe and that's more important now.

I've assigned an ESL Library lesson about social distancing, so please sign-in to your ESL Library account and proceed through the lesson.

I see many of you still haven't created an ESL Library account. Please look at lesson #4 and create an account if you don't have one yet. You are missing out on important material.
